Feb 17, 2015 · Windows 8.1 Start Menu Apps Show "X" or "Error" for New Profiles Experiencing this problem today with ANY new profile I try to add to an existing Windows 8.1 machine. My own profile (which is an Admin) works just fine - all Start Menu app tiles work OK.
