Vista wont connect to internet, local access only. I've been given a friends computer to fix and not being familier with Vista I am unable to fix it. Using either wired or wireless connection to my router it will say its connected to 'Unidentified network' with only local access.

Jun 26, 2014 · I have an Acer Aspire 3680 ZR1 running Windows Vista 32 bit. My problem started when I tried connecting to my home network. It connects to my network but it says "unidentified network with local access only. My first step was to get on the phone with AT &T tech support. They remotely accessed my laptop but were unsuccessful in fixing the problem. I got a Vista Ultimate laptop here that won't connect to the internet. It finds and connects to the wireless network without a problem, but it says local only and i can't get to any websites. It's a Dell wireless 1505 card. I've tried updating the drivers, but still no luck.
